Q2 looks really funny because it's the lowest share of phone shipments for Apple since the original iPhone. They're down to 10% of new devices. With 90% of the (new) smartphone market belonging to Android now, the situation shows no sign of reverting to Apple's favor. Steve Jobs was furious over Android and called it a "stolen product" and said he'd sue and there'd be a "nuclear war" in the court system. "On August 29th, 1997, 3 billion human lives ended. The survivors called it Judgment Day...." okay..... Yes, Apple would very much like to have the market to themselves again, but they insist, publicly, that they're fine with 10% because they plan to increase the price of the iPhone, again, to $1,600 this time. It's no coincidence that the price of the iPhone has more than tripled in the last decade as the platform becomes less popular. They find the people who will keep buying them and they squeeze, and squeeze.
