Someone noticed that OS X has added some support code for AMD CPUs.

It doesn't surprise me. Apparently, 30% performance hit from Meltdown was so bad that even people who insist their Mac is fine noticed. :)

In somewhat related news, Jamie Zawinski's 8 core Intel i7 Mac is "crashing and freezing at random" but sound keeps playing and he can ssh into it. Someone with a Macbook says the same thing happens and closing the lid and reopening it sometimes works.

Glad I saved myself the money and the "Mac experience" by using Linux.
