Illinois sent my mom a final violation notice for the toll booths she skipped.
I said, "That was last year before anyone knew about the Coronavirus. Why didn't you just go through the cash lanes?
She's like "Well, I'm from Indiana and I don't know how those things work!".
So the state was trying to get $568 out of her, but then they said "Oh we have thousands of people we've been chasing down for old tolls so you have one chance to settle them for this much money." and hers turned out to be $29.67.
So I got on the Illinois toll road website and had her read me her debit card and sent her a receipt.
