"Walmart is facing two lawsuits. One is from a 72-year-old, part-time Texas employee who sued for $1 million to pay for coronavirus medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. She alleged the retail giant didn't do enough to protect employees.   Randy Hargrove, Walmart spokesman, expressed sympathy and condolences for the workers and their families, and said the company was defending itself in the lawsuits. "Our associates' safety is a top priority, and we continue to take measures to protect them at work," he said, citing examples such as providing masks and gloves to its workers and conducting screenings.  The company backs liability protections. In May, CEO Doug McMillon said on Squawk Box "some form of liability protections" was needed, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses. McMillion also is chairman of the Business Roundtable, which asked Congress for liability reforms."
