i am in favor of SSI as you might have noticed and i truly believe it is the future. at the moment we are facing the problem where we have the tech (ipfs) but it is too hard for a normal enduser to use. lets say that i have and IPID(or any of the SSI providers) and i want to have my own data encrypted with my own keys (part of DID) and stored them securely on the network. the enduser doesn't need to know where they are stored as long they are ready to pay for the service and being able to encrypt with their identity on any device. on the other hand standardaising the layer for encryption/decryption on top of ipfs could also mean that user is not vendor-locked to any of the apps that provide similar functionality. i hope i answerd your question
