Hello, Thank you for the message. I no longer have anything to do with that group as an anonymous moderator who wouldn't even name themselves banned me for no stated reason after I criticized Microsoft. The Linux Foundation is indeed very corrupt, and their CEO uses a Mac, but that's true of Red Hat under IBM and even as its own company under Jim Whitehurst. In the end, as it pertains to Lenovo, they fixed the BIOS issues after the State of Illinois opened an investigation into my complaint with the Attorney General. My opinion of Linux is a "for lack of anything better" one at this point. 22 years ago I correctly predicted that Microsoft should be scared of it at all market levels, and after years of technical sabotage, disinformation campaigns, and abuse of the legal system, they decided it would be better to just control Linux than what they were doing, because it wasn't working. In my opinion, the BSDs have too many missing drivers and user freedom isn't very high on the list, and most of the community absolutely despises the GPL, so it would be a step back even from the current state of the Linux world. It does seem that Freedom is one of those things where you can cut the proprietary stuff by half as many times as you like and never get quite there, but an Ubuntu or a Debian or a Fedora is much closer to the 100 percent than Windows or Mac. I am sorry to say that even open source drivers have become a beachhead for DRM these days, and it would be great if someone removed those hooks instead of just shipping it that way. As for politics in the US, it doesn't seem like you can fight a legal battle based on Free Software, but you can fight one based on antitrust and consumer fraud, and they take that more seriously, so my complaint letter was worded that way as a means to an end. As for Stallman, he comes across to me as a difficult person who is short with people, but I do not think that the Free Software Movement will do as well without him. That's probably why there was a push to dig up things he said years ago and use it to force him out. The FSF is being paid to soften their language and look the other way these days.
