Hello,

I have a statement about your “enforcement” of the restaurants in Lake County that have decided to reopen.

Bizarre and seemingly random edicts from unelected foul bureaucrats such as yourselves have all but destroyed the economy of Illinois.
 
You may have jobs for now (at least while anyone is around who can still pay taxes), so you may not have gotten out to see and appreciate the destruction you have wrought in the area. Every business closed and bankrupted by your health “orders”, which are a legal fiction, and posited as if the public is a mindless herd of animals that you are in charge of corralling, is one that cannot ever reopen and start hiring people.

Those people have bills to pay. They have families to take care of. You may not care, but they do. You are causing desperation, hopelessness, and a wave of suicides due to this manufactured economic crises. By keeping workout centers and activities closed, you are creating more overweight people with conditions that dramatically increase the odds of death from COVID-19.

Most people are in little to no danger of dying from COVID-19. In fact, most people don’t even notice if they have it.

But your closures and “contact tracing” efforts have not only damaged the economy and led to Stasi-like spying tactics against the public (can’t even use the library anymore, etc.), but they make it impossible to ever “restore Illinois”.

You may be aware that the county borders don’t have a force field keeping people who don’t feel the need to follow your dictatorial edicts inside, and as things such as indoor dining reopen in the surrounding Illinois counties (and have been reopened by court order in Wisconsin for some time), there’s simply no logic in punishing honest hard working people and small business owners, as you do damage to Lake County while any possible gains in slowing the spread of the Coronavirus will be subverted by the public in some way anyway.

America lost control of the pandemic a year ago and it’s far too late to put the genie back in the bottle. What we have is a disastrous social experiment that’s being called a “vaccine”, and few doses of that which you guys are dosing the elderly with. (I guess because it’s less unethical to start with people who have less to lose if this escaped lab experiment hurts them.)

Many experts figure that it’s going to have to run its course and will turn into nothing more than a common cold eventually. Since that’s where we’re headed and since the Lake County Health Department is powerless to stop that, why don’t we dispense with your Kafkaesque nonsense? And I say Kafkaesque nonsense, because that’s what Governor One Man Mass Gathering’s rolling shutdowns are.

“Oh gee, we’ll just open things up a bit and wait for it to get real ugly again, and now we’ll do billions more in economic damage…..and now we’ll open things up a bit…and now it’s shut.”

Your farce of an enforcement action has nothing to do with public health. In fact, it's very likely that Pritzker will allow dining at 25% capacity in Lake County again in a few days anyway. You're simply making the point that Big Daddy Government is here to crush the real economy and force itself on freedom-loving people yet again. You should all resign and find something productive to do.
