I like that discord has the ability to video stream.
I've used it to help debug some sessions with people.

I think it's a bit of a stretch the opposition to it because it's not open source.

Plenty of aspects of my life are not open source.
The firmware running on my monitor is not open source. Neither is the firmware on my TV or my espresso machine.
