I'm not qualified nor experienced enough to answer that as a statement if you are asking for your article. 

What I do know is that AOSP is 'full open source'. With no google services nor apps. GraheneOS is a nonprofit open source project that's ahardened fork of AOSP and also does not include any google services or apps.
