--- summary: Consensus-based or moderated room state setting --- created: 2016-02-19 16:01:32.0 creator: neb description: |- Submitted by @matthew:matrix.org There have been a few use cases where it would be useful if all (or most) of the users in a room agree on setting some room state before it takes effect - or where a proposal for room state might need to be moderated by an admin. For instance, all users in a room may need to opt in before history visibility rules are changed. Or users may propose a new avatar for the room which the admin can approve. There are some clear problems here (100% consensus breaks if even one user has gone awol), and avatars could be proposed in-band or OOB without needing dedicated protocol support for it, but it's an interesting idea id: '12505' key: SPEC-353 number: '353' priority: '3' project: '10001' reporter: neb status: '10100' type: '1' updated: 2016-10-28 16:28:19.0 votes: '0' watches: '2' workflowId: '12605' --- actions: - author: richvdh body: 'Migrated to github: https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-doc/issues/640' created: 2016-10-28 16:28:19.0 id: '13449' issue: '12505' type: comment updateauthor: richvdh updated: 2016-10-28 16:28:19.0
