We now have the final list of candidates for the 2026 election of the Foundation's Governing Board! This represents our third milestone in the process and means our candidates can start campaigning as of today!

As a reminder, the full election schedule is as follows:
✅ Announcement on Monday 27th April
✅ Nominations from Saturday 2nd May to Friday 15th May
➡️ Campaigning from Saturday 16th May to Friday 29th May
◻️ Voting from Saturday 30th May to Friday 12th June
◻️ Results announced on Monday 15th June

The Matrix.org Foundation is a non-profit and only relies on donations to operate. Its core mission is to maintain the Matrix Specification, but it does much more than that.

It maintains the matrix.org homeserver and hosts several bridges for free. It fights for our collective rights to digital privacy and dignity.
